Financial independence, personal development and the importance of habits are subjects that are not taught in school despite the fact that they are the foundations of a fulfilled life. There is no magic recipe and we cannot change our life overnight, however we can all change our destination today. Because to succeed in having your dream life you don’t need to be especially smart or have a comfortable foundation, you just need to be curious and keep improving in the right way.

If I’ve created Aim Higher today, it’s because just like you several years ago, I’ve started by asking myself some questions. It took me some time to understand that my deepest value was freedom and that this freedom could not be obtained by working for money in the so-called “normal” way.

"You cannot change your life over night, but you can change its direction"

Coming from a poor family I first thought that to become rich I had to go to university and have good grades, which I did. A Bachelor’s degree in International Business Management and a Master’s degree in Social Sciences later; I was on the road of wealth (I thought). Since then, I’ve worked for the Swiss Government as part of the Swiss delegation for the U.N, where I could have a well-ordered life until retirement. But I quickly understood that it was not there that I would have the positive impact I was looking for. So then, I worked in a start-up where we were helping people to invest in the stock market by themselves. That was the most interesting job I ever had, the only issue was that we were only targeting people 50+. This was because my generation is supposed to be too busy working for money to have time to worry about how to make money work for them.

What I observed so far is that there are two ways to achieve financial freedom : one is to invest part of your income continuously over 30 years (in the stock market, real estate etc.) and the other is to become an entrepreneur and increase your value in the market by becoming better. Both options require improvements, but the first is the more traditional path that allows you to stay in a comfort zone, while cultivating good money habits that will guarantee you more choices for your future. The second option asks us to redefine what is “working” and working hard on what comes easy to us.

"A journey of a thousand miles always begins with a first step”.

This realization was gradual and it was possible because I was curious and willing to learn. Today I share with you through Aim Higher, all my insights to help you find your path as smoothly as possible in order to reach your full potential. What I’ve learnt is that people either change by inspiration or by desperation. I wish for you to be inspired to become the best version of yourself without needing an accident, being broke, having a burn out, or experiencing the death of someone you love (because I had to personally experience it all before I understood it).

Successful people are ordinary people that have 24h just like everyone else, but that have these things  :

1) A strong reason why
2) Have a clear vision
3) They work hard on what comes easy to them
4) They are disciplined with good habits
5) They are in an environment that inspires them to grow
6) They take difficulties as challenges to overcome
7) They never stop learning and improving
8) They don’t let their life be guided by fear (which is a negative emotion) but choose instead to believe they can.
