"To have more in life we need to become better and the only way to achieve this is by changing our habits and beliefs."
-Sarah Joy
Any worthy goal will require a different version of us. It’s impossible to expect different results by doing the same thing over and over again. This is why to have more in life we have to become more.
This is actually a good thing ; as it means that we can all improve and that it is only up to us to work on ourselves to get it.
There is no such thing as “overnight success” or “luck”. People that seem lucky are people that worked hard on what came easy to them and never stopped improving, which makes it look like it is easy. It’s only because they did the same thing over and over that their comfort zone leveled up. The game is to never settle and keep pushing our limits. This is how we can reach our full potential.
That’s why knowing where we’re going will make it easier to stick to the plan as we have a aim, but we should never expect it to be easy. It will become easier as we will improve, but it’s always harder at the beginning as we don’t see direct result of our actions. Any worthy goals in life take time, and that’s why we need to consciously make the effort to implement the right habits to stay consistent before it can become part of our identity.
By “right habits” I mean to set the type of habits that are aligned with our natural inclinations and abilities (for instance : with my height being 1m62 I never intended to become a basketball player). The trick is to play a game where the odds are in our favor. We all need to accept the fact that we are all born with different abilities and that’s why we cannot compare our path to someone’s else. The areas where we are genetically predisposed to success are the area where habits are more likely to be satisfying.
Our only competition should be with who we were yesterday. To compete with someone’s else journey is just a waste of time and it will actually bring negative energy to your life. We all should be focusing on our own growth and staying in our lane, which is the safest path to a fulfilled and peaceful life.
"Genes do not determine our destiny, they determine our areas of opportunity"
-James Clear
"Do not compare your chapter 1 to someone else's chapter 20."
- Unknown
Kind reminder : it’s easy for no one. We just all choose our hard and then set the tone for the rest of our lives. Every professional was an amateur once, every expert was a beginner. The only difference is that professionals stick to the right habits and understand that there are not only good parts. To become better, we need to suck at the next level- this is how we improve. There are only lessons in life, that’s what successful people take failures as.
"The price is easy to pay, when the vision is clear"
- Jim Rohn.
To have more in our life is a choice. It’s only once we take full responsibility of our lives and stop blaming external factors for our situations, that we can finally see our blind spots and improve.
The best way to implement new habits are to track them and stay consistent. All you want is to become self-reliable with yourself and controlling your narrative.
